I'm trying to duplicate my friend's chart settings for the "DM" indicator. His "Panel" setting is set to "2" but that's not an option for me. Why?

Thank you for your post.
This is due to there only being 1 panel on the chart currently. You will want to select 'New Panel' which will effectively be Panel 2 once you click 'OK' to save the changes and add the indicator to the chart.
Then when you go back to the Indicators window the Panel will show 2.
