Z-Order

I have 5 SMA on a chart and set the Z-order for all to back ground and then saved as template but when I then apply template to other charts I then again have to set the z-order, is there a way to set this as default so as not to adjust all the time?

Thanks for the note.

I tested this and my templates were saving the z-order for new charts.

Can you please try this test:

1. Open a new chart with no template applied.
2. Apply only the SMA
3. Set Z-Order
4. Save a new chart template
5. Open a new chart
6. Apply that template.

Does the Z-Order save then? If so, then there might be an indicator that is overriding the Z-Order by itself.

I will test this out with a script while I await your reply.

I tried that doesn't work

What I noticed is that the z-order has different numbers for all the charts I have open and all are 3 Minute?

Thanks for the reply.

The z-order is a stack and it will grow as you add more items to your cart. Since the test did not work for you, I must ask, what version of NinjaTrader 7 are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X)

Thanks for the reply.

I tested this on revision .37 and the saving still works.

To rule out that the workspace is not allowing you to save the z-order in your template, make a new blank workspace (File> Workspace> New) and perform the steps I listed in my original reply. I tested the z-order on revision .37, .38, and on a colleague's computer so the functionality is there.
