Is it possible to change the default colour of a ray?

You can change the default properties of any drawing object by double clicking on the object, changing the properties and then saving the template as Default from the object's properties window.

Thank you for your quick reply, Chris. I did exactly as you mentioned but the next ray is still blue. I'm using NT 8

Just to confirm - you are double clicking on your Ray, changing the color, selecting Template > Save with the name Default and subsequent Ray objects are still showing as blue? I have just tested this on my end and these would be the correct steps for changing the default properties.

Yes, I tried several times, just as you mentioned, and the new ray is still blue. Even though the new colour is saved as default.

Hello Maddy,

You will need to ensure that the template is specifically being given the name "Default" with a capital D in order for this to work. If the template name is anything else, it will not be the default preset for the Ray drawing object and instead would have to be loaded manually in the Ray's properties window.
