Using Replay data and historical data for training

Hi,
I would like prepare a setup for me to train day trading. Essentially I need to perform general analysis on monthly/weekly/daily timeframe and then paper trade 30m, 15m or 5m timeframe. Say i want to train day training over the period 12/13/17->12/23/18, I would like to have historical data from Feb.2016 till 12/12/17 and then replay data from 12/13 till the end of the period.
Replay data are ok, but the chart I use to display them does'nt display also historical data even though I correctly imported 1m historical data for the last two years.

Any clue? thanks

Glad to assist. What version of NinjaTrader are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X or 8.0.X.0)

Thank you for your reply.

The Market Replay connection will only load data that is selected in the 'From:' and 'To:' dates in the Market Replay controller.

I see that you have 8/12/2017 to 9/3/2018 selected.

If you set your 'From:' date father back are you able to load more historical data?

Yes I can.
But if I want to start papertrading at 12/8/2018 and I have to make the replay loader start at february 2016 in order to see two years of previous data, I have to wait a long time before the price reach my start date (say 12/08) even if I speed up reload time (up to 500x).

Is there a way to have previous data displayed without actually to wait for the replayer to fetch them?

Hello afoschini,

You would need to wait until all the requested historical data has loaded before replaying the data.

Note that NinjaTrader will attempt to pull data for any open window, even if it is not in view.

Items that may improve loading time would be:

— Loading replay data in smaller time frames

— Ensuring that any background charts and workspaces are closed
