    LinReg bug?

    NT 7.0.1000.40

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. New chart (e.g. 1 min ES)
    2. Add LinReg with a large period value, e.g. 100 - LinReg(ES 06-19 (1 Min), 100)
    3. Go to the beginning of the chart (e.g. press Home)
It looks quite nice, though renders the chart (with Autoscale on) useless, until that part disappeares.

    Titus,

    Thanks for posting.

I'll be happy to test this on both versions of the platform and follow up with you with my findings.

      Thank you DrewO.

I tested it a bit further. At period 21 it is still sane. At period 22 it goes full retard (never go full retard). I don't know if it helps, but this is what I found.

        Titus,

        Appreciate your patience.

I can reproduce this in NinjaTrader 7, but I cannot reproduce this in NinjaTrader 8. I have reported this to the Development Team. However, NinjaTrader 7 is receiving critical updates only while we focus all efforts on NinjaTrader 8.

'll note this as a current limitation of NinjaTrader 7

          Thank you, DrewO.
Is there an indicator that is reasonably close to LinReg, so I could use that instead?
Or would it be easier to create a custom LinReg using the code from NT8? Would it be a relatively easy thing to do, or are the differences between the version (NT7 and NT8 Ninjascript) to big for that?
          Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hello Titus, thanks for your reply.

I fixed this by setting the scripts BarsRequired property to the selected period.

To import this file, download it then go to File>Utilities>Import NinjaScript.

            All the best wishes!
