Cash and future symbols

How do I format cash and future continuation symbols for the Dow, SP and Nasdaq in NT/Zen-Fire? Want to display daily charts and also include in the Market Analyzer.

Thank you for your post.


In order to view the continuous contract in ZenFire, you will have to merge the data of the relevant contracts:

ZenFire does not support historical daily data, but you can use a 1440 minute chart as a work around.

Can you tell me the format of the various cash indexes? Dow, SP and Nasdaq.

You can find these in the Instrument Manager. Change type to Index, leave the rest of the field blank and hit search. All of the default indices will appear and you can scroll down these to add to your list using the < button.

Thought that would be the place to look but "Index" is not an option in the type dropdown. Only <Any> or Future.

Your Instrument Manager should look similar to this. If this is not the case please ensure you are on NinjaTrader 6.5.1000.6 and try going to Tools->Options->Misc->Reset Instruments.
