Thanks for your post.

Do you have your code segmented by BarsInProgress index? As each instrument calls OnbarUpdate() the references can change.

What are your entries per direction and entry handling set to?

Yes I have the code segmented properly using the bars in progress index. As far as entry handling goes it's 1 entry per direction ; all entries; exit on close false; stop and target -per entry execution and sync - false

Please change your entry handling to "UniqueEntries" and retest on live data on your sim101 account.

Multi Instrument Issues

That makes a difference! But it looks like it's only buying #1. # 2 doesn't seem to buy using the same strategy. See pic.

If you are using the same entry names for the instruments then you may need to increase your entries per direction.

If you are using unique names for each instrument then I suggest you debug your strategy with print statements to see what order is being placed and when.

Multi Instrument Strategies

Hi Paul,

I ran my multi instrument strategy today and it tried to buy a stock but wasn't successful. Take a look at the error log in the pic below. I'm not sure why it didn't buy. Also attached is a message from my output window. My print statement shows that the algorithm tried to buy EQIX. I can understand why the sell orders didn't work- I didn't own any of them to begin with.The strategy thinks i bought them some time ago. However I'm confused why the buy order didn't work. Something about API in read only mode. I'll look at the IB API settings. Can you let me know what I can try? thanks.

According to the NT7 connection guide for interactive brokers, the supported version of TWS to use is 960.2g.
