Hi,

today first live trade ( i hoped )

My CL##-## chart has an automated startegy enabled to my brokerage account.
IQfeed data and the brokerage data are both selected and 'green'.

Despite, the order was rejected a second ago, se the attachment

Please assist.

It is not possible to place live trades on a continuous contract in NinjaTrader. You will need to select an active contract month for your live trading. The current CL front month is 09-17.

so i use a ##-## chart say, just for backtesting purposes?
Correct?!

And when i approach the new roll over date i will select the next period in the data series ( possibly 10-17)?

Yes, you can use a continuous contract for backtesting.

Yes, you will always need to select an active contract month for live trading. CL is monthly and the next month is 10-17. More info can be found on the exchange's website:
