Indicator value at the end of bar?

How can I discover the indicator value, at the end of the bar?

For instance, say my chart has 10 minute bars. If I examine value SMA(20)[1], I get the value of the SMA at the time when the bar started. How can I get the value of when the ended instead?

Thanks for your post.

If your indicator is being run under CalculateOnBarClose = true then you will have the value at the end of the bar. In this case SMA(20)[0] would be the value of the latest closed bar, SMA(20)[1] would be the value of the previous bar. The currently forming bar is not known when CalculateOnBarClose = true because the calculation is not run until the bar closes (completes).

If your indicator is being run under CalculateOnBarClose = false, then SMA(20)[0] will be the current value based on the currently forming bar and will dynamically change as price changes while the bar is forming. SMA(20)[1] would then point to the latest closed bar (prior bar to the currently forming one.

So depending on which calculation type is being used, the bar indexes will shift by 1. To help illustrate, please see the attached.
