This must be a bug in NT

    Hi,

I came accross an interesting situation regarding Ninja Trader indicator outputs in XP (SP2) and Vista Home Premium. I have included two snapshots (one from each system) to show the exact details. Even though it is obvious for anyone to see the differences, I have outlined them for easier comparisons. There are other indicators that show differently on these systems, I have only included two (Pivots and PriorDayOHLC).
    --------------------------------------
    Windows XP

    Pivot Points

    PP 1269.67
    R1 1263.33
    S1 1258.58

    Prior Day OHLC

    Open 1260.50
    High 1262.75
    Low 1258.00
    Close 1261.25
    --------------------------------------
    Windows Vista Home Premium

    Pivot Points

    PP 1257.92
    R1 not shown on chart!
    S1 not shown on chart!

    Prior Day OHLC

    Open not shown on chart!
    High 1263.00
    Low not shown on chart!
    Close 1260.25
    --------------------------------------
I am using the same Data Provider (therefore the same Data) for both charts.
I have used the same Timeframe for both charts.
I am also showing the same Instrument on both charts (ES 09-08).
The snapshot is taken of the same date and time period.

Why such discrepancy in calculations? It has to be a bug.
It has to be a bug in NT that causes miscalcullations in either XP or Vista.
It might even seem comical if it wasn't serious. Some traders might depend on these indicators to trigger trades or close positions. How many other times does NT miscalcullate because it doesn't like either XP or Vista?

No I didn't check which of these lines are correct (I didn't have time and am still recovering from the shock) but it doesn't matter because the outputs should be the same in both systems.

I hope somebody takes a look at this and hopefully a bug is found and corrected.

    Good trading to all!

Number of bars back are probably different; looks like a lot more bar in the first chart.

Both charts have at least 15 days worth of data but in this case it shouldn't matter because these indicators only need prior day's OHLC.

Likely both lines are correct since the underlying data between the two systems are likely different thus the indicator values reflect the underlying data.

        - Check to make sure the chart session begin/end times on both PC's are the same
        - Right click and reload historical data on both PC's
        - You can also just check the low value of the PriorDayOHLC --> Does it align to the lowest value you can manually see for the prior session on each chart? If yes, then the indicator is functioning as expected
