    How is TrendStrength calculated?

    Hi,

Does anyone knows how is TrendStrength calculated or its formula?

When i was working on Candlestick pattern, i came across this "TrendStrength" which by default is set on 4 which indicate "The number of required bars to the left and right of the swing point used to determine trend".

But does anyone know how this is calculated or formulated so that i could know if i need to set on other numbers instead of default "4" ?

    Hello Draco76,

Thank you for writing in and welcome to the NinjaTrader Support Forum!

trendStrength is not a calculation. Rather, it is a variable that is used by the CandleStickPattern indicator for its calculations.

I would suggest taking a look at the CandleStickPattern indicator's code to see how this variable is used.

To do this, click on Tools -> Edit NinjaScript -> Indicator. Select CandleStickPattern and click on OK.

Please, let us know if we may be of further assistance.
