Indicator source code disapeared

Hello,

I was making a change to my custom indicator and when I clicked on compile, my PC froze. After waiting for a while I shut it down and restarted. Once all booted up, I opened Ninja and saw the indicator plots on the chart as usual. However, when I opened source code for my indicator, the editor is blank. The file shows the size, but there is nothing inside the files. I also, tried to open it with notepad, and it is blank. Yet, when I refresh the chart, all calculations are shown properly.

Any idea on how to retrieve the source code back?

I advise looking for the .CS file in the subfolder with your NT install and opening in a text editor.

depending on which version of windows you have something like :

\username\My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom\Indicator


Or do a file search on the name in windows explorer.

At least make a back up or something.

Also try editing another indicator if it is there and you have a backup, etc.

redduke, sounds like it then would only still be available in compiled form in the NT Custom dll you use. As it you seem to have checked directly already the source cs file via notepad. Do you have a backup still available?

I always back up my staff once I ma done with it, just was not aware of this issue and have not backed up work in progress. Lost a bit of work. I will try to see if I can salvage it it any way.
