SendMail and PlaySound doesn't work?

Could somebody explain why SendMail() and PlaySound() methods do not function from inside self-developed indicator? I have put them between DrawArrowDown(Up) method and Print() method. Both are OK which is seen on the chart and in output window, but mail and sound are not generated at all. And log-file has no errors of any kind.

Sorry, I would not know. I suggest writing a simple indicator with these exact SendMail/Sound command and get it to working. You then could add your custom logic step by step and maintain working SendMail/Sound commands.

To clarify, calls to these methods are ignored if the data is historical.

The whole send mail thing, does it actually send an email?? I tried it in the wizard and nothing every occurred, I used a simple design also. I inserted my own email address just to see, I never got an email but it did make the trades.

Hi timmyb,

If you did not receive an email you most likely did not setup the SMTP server yet. It is in Tools->Options->Misc. There is a "Test" button you can use to test with.

no i did not setup the SMPT server, and well have no clue what that is lol. but will do as you say and dive into the dark side. Just curious but when it emails what does it actually email. Perhaps like hey man you rock and your pc just made 5 bazzilion dollars. Now thats one i would want sent to me ex-girlfreinds email. LOL

My bad. SMTP is actually only needed for the TS email interface. Please see if there are any errors in the logs when you try to use SendMail/PlaySound.

It works perfectly. No necessity in SMTP definition. The only thing which was essential - to restart NT-application. Otherwise those two methods are not activated and log doesn't show any error.
