Ninjascript acrhive file error

Hi,

I am getting the error message below when trying to import a monthly indicator update from a vendor (which usually runs smoothly).

I have recompiled indicators, removed the offending assemblies, reinstalled NT7 & STILL get the error message. This has never happened before, so please advise.

jtrade, it could be an export issue as well as something the vendor would need to correct then. To find out exactly what is causing the duplicate please extract the dll files from the zip and install manually into the bin > custom folder and then restart NT and recompile. If you would like us to check this out, please email us via Help > Mail to Support and attach the file you're trying to import.

Thanks, Bertrand. I have done the above and reinstalled NT, to no avail.

Have now sent platform support request as you suggest.

Thanks have just replied back, seems in this update there's really another reference included that you miss. Something the developer would then need to look into exporting again 'clean'.

I'm sorry, Bertrand, I'm not quite sure what's missing !?

The assembly was exported from a system that had an additional reference installed, perhaps another indicator package...this assembly would be expected on your system as well by the compiler. Thus your developer would need to reexport the file from a clean setup where only NT's default set of references is installed. Then you should be able to install normally as expected.

Need some help

I have attached an image of references used in my code and I can export it directly it means no error on my script. But when I tried to import it then I got the same error on this post. I am using CarlosAg.ExcelXmlWriter and I already imported it on my NT. But why I could not import my zip file.

edward_bell, would this be a zip file containing the sources or your code as compiled assembly?

It contains the compiled assembly. It contains the cs, dll, info.xml and the AdditionalReferences.txt.

edward_bell, ok and when you try then to import the script from the zip - is the open code script removed from the install? They could not both coexist.

Yes the source code was already remove. Actually I can import my old zip file of it but the new one I couldn't. I just simply edit it a little just putting an icon of the form then compile then that's it no more changes and I export it again and test it in other computer it will not import. As I said I am only using CarlosAgExcelWritter and the windows.form.visualization and the system already has it. In exporting it says that make sure the system that will used the zip file has it already so the system has it already and why it doesn't import successfully.

Is your class using any namespace other than the default ones that NinjaTrader puts into the shell from the wizard?

Do you mean here you could not import an update to the file? If so just do a remove via the File > Utilities > Remove NinjaScript first and then import your new script.

It is only in this namespace "namespace NinjaTrader.Indicator" and here is my class " public class Trade_Examiner : Indicator" no other in the code. I have attached also the reference image that the cs file has.

I have already remove the old zip file then import my new update of it but why I couldn't import? I have attached an image on exporting prompt and also when I tried to import it.
