Chartcontrol Invalidate

Hi,

I know this is an unsupported feature, but maybe someone can help anyway.

I have been using ChartControl.ChartPanel.Invalidate() to redraw the screen on a button press, and also on a timer. I have noticed a couple of anomalies. if a text object is redrawn it can leave the previous rendering in place, and redraw over the top of it - when you set the transparency you can see the older drawing behind.

there are situations also where I specifically make removedrawobject() calls and the objects are not removed.

I am using these techniques in 2 different indicators I am developing, and both of these indicators have secondary dataseries, could that possibly have something to do with it?

Another symptom

I've also noticed with one of my two indicators experiencing this problem that my text box can be displayed twice in the same chart.

If I change the text drawing position, say from top left to bottom left, it will draw it in both positions at the same time - I assume that the one on the top left is the old one that has not been removed correctly, and the bottom left one is the new redraw.

It also continues to update the text in both drawing positions.

Have you tried ChartControl.Refresh?

Thanks for the reply, I will try that.

I have noticed however that since the .18 upgrade the issue has not yet appeared. If I see it again I will try the refresh method.
