hi ... is there a way to set the color of the border of a Heiken Ashi candle from within an indicator?

If you look ath the HeikenAshi indicator, you will find a shadowColor variable that you can set to whichever color you'd like.

thanks Matthew. I'm trying to change the border color from within the code of another indicator ... not sure how to access the shadow color. Any thoughts?

You wouldn't be able to control this from another indicator without modifying the existing heiken ashi indicator.

Can you give me more details and what you're trying to do? Are you looking to dynamically change the color based off of specific conditions?

exactly ... want to set the color based on the size of the candle

In this case, I'd suggest putting the logic in a copy of the HekienAshi indicator.

You can see where the HekienAshi is plotting under the Miscellaneous region of the indicator.

You can create a copy of the existing by right clicking in the code and selecting "Save as" and give it a new name.
