    calculating local min/max

Hi everyone. A rather algorithmic question to the members of the board..

I am trying to calculate local extreme of price chart as well as RSI indicator.

What would be most acurate way to do so?

Taking mv avg value over small intervals and seeing where slope goes from negative to positive value? A kind of thing we learned in Calculus class a while back))

Another method would be to interate in a loop over a chart bars seeing where local mins/max are achieved...This seems mor prone to errors.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Use the MIN and MAX classes. Look in the NT Help for syntax.

      Hello sambazone,
Welcome to the forum and I am happy to assist you.

You may also refer to the unsupported GetMinMaxValues to get the min max values. It is however not officially supported by us and thus there are no documentation or sample/support for the same. You can however refer to this post to get some ideas.

Please let me know if I can assist you any further.
