    File errors

    Hello,

    I receive the following error message when trying to import an indicator file:

    "You have custom Ninja Scipt files on your PC that have programming errors. These errors must be resolved before you can import a Ninjascript Archive file."

    How do I resolve these errors??

    Thank you for your note.

    Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling the indicator. This will allow you to debug the indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader compiles all indicators and strategies- not just one.

    * Open NinjaTrader
    * From the Control Center select the Tools menu--> select the Edit NinjaScript menu item--> select Indicator
    * Select any indicator and double click on it.
    * A new window will appear and you will need to right click in the window and select Compile to compile the indicators.
    * At the bottom of the window a new section will appear were you can find the error locations.
    * From there you have the option to remove the indicator or debug it.

    Please let us know the exact error messages you're seeing within the NinjaScript compile and we can provide the next steps. A screenshot will be helpful for us to identify.


    To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

      Error Message

      Thanks for the reply. Helpful but didn't completely solve the problem.

      The files shown in the attached PDF do not exist in the list given when
      Tools -> Edit Indicator.

      But they do exist in the pop up menu available on the chart trader (at top).

      Seems that I can't delete the problem files.

      Any more suggestions ??

        Can you remove the anaBollingerUniversal and the anaKeltnerUniversal from the Tools -> Edit NinjaScript -> Indicator.

        Select the indicators listed above and select Remove.

          ??

          The Ninja Trader will now not run. Cannot begin the Ninja Trader program on my
          computer.

          I guess I need to remove and re-install Ninja Trader??

            Please send a note to Support[At]NinjaTrader[Dot]Com.

            Put ATTN: Cameron in the subject field and a link to this forum post in the body.


            Attach your latest Log and Trace files.
            You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.

            * The log file will be named log.20121212.txt

            You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.

            * The trace file will be named trace.20121212.txt


            Please attach both of these files to your next response. If these files are over 4MB, please let me know and I can respond with alternative instructions.
