Average Weekly Volume

Hi,

I'd like to get the Average Weekly Volume in the Market Analyzer and I assume there is no direct market Data to get this number. I was just wondering if there was an easy formula to get this number that I could whip into an indicator and put that into the market analyzer?

I'm also thinking it would be nice to have a market analyzer with the volumes from last Friday, Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday as I like to search for odd volume activity.

So to get the volume from last Friday do I have to use that DayOfTheWeek thing?

Hmmm, strange, I started trying this out and I managed to get the volume percentage for 1,2 & 3 days ago but 4 & 5 come up as 0.

I used this formula in 5 different indicators and applied them to the market analyzer with Daily data:

Value.Set((Volume[1]/SMA(Volume, 200) [0])*100);
Value.Set((Volume[2]/SMA(Volume, 200) [0])*100);
Value.Set((Volume[3]/SMA(Volume, 200) [0])*100);

all of these worked fine as seperate indicators

Value.Set((Volume[4]/SMA(Volume, 200) [0])*100);
Value.Set((Volume[5]/SMA(Volume, 200) [0])*100);

these return a number of 0

Why would that be?

Okay, it's Number of bars to look back. I increased it and then the 4 & 5 came up with numbers. I guess I don't understand that though, I thought I'd only need 4 or 5 bars in the look back??

stockgoblin, it looks like you would need more here since you take the 200 bar SMA into consideration for the calculation result as well.

Volume Percentage indicators for Market Analyzer

Ah yes, I got it now. Wow, this is great. Now I have a clear indication of the last 5 days of volume, laid out nicely on the market analyzer. Volume percentage rocks!!!!

remember to use Daily data and 200 bar lookback with these

Oh and here's the Volume Percentage indicator for the current day to put into the market analyzer.

- use daily data and 200 bar lookback and I like a cell condition that turns it blue background with white text if over %150!!
