I found this VIX indicator, can anyone teach me how to use it?

Hi,

I found this VIX indicator, it measures volatility. The website teaches me how to install it, but everytime I place it on a chart it doesn't seem to show any values at all, can anyone tell me if I am doing it correctly?

I did this : tools > new ninjascript > indicator > generate > paste entire code over > click generate

Did I miss out anything? I placed the indicator on a stock in NYSE, do I have to place it in an S&P 500 stock for it to work?

You do not need an indicator to chart the VIX. Just add a second DataSeries to your chart.

The VIX shows you the implied volatility for ES futures as calculated from a basket of out of the money index options. It has a strong negative correlation with the S&P 500, see chart attached.
