custom volume

hello all. just couple questions on NT capabilities before i start spending $$$ with 3rd party programmers.

1) can a custom indicator determine the volume for each up/down tick?
then take the sum of uptick volume for the past x periods and
sum of downtick volume for the past x periods?
it's understood it would be in real time.

2) can a custom indicator measure the number of contracts in each individual trade?
and whether that trade took place at the bid & below or ask & above?

basically looking to break volume down into specific components and see who/what is the majority of total volume. thanks. jm

Johnny, yes that should be doable in realtime / market replay for the correct 'split up'. Some of those concepts are already worked into our Power Volume indicators -
