Lost indicators on upgrade

Hi there my custom indicators are missing after i upgraded from the earlier Beta?

Did you manually delete any folders such as My Documents\NinjaTrader XX ?

On a standard upgrade, indicators are not deleted. You could verify this by opening the folder

My Documents\NinjaTrader Installation Folder\bin\Custom\Indicators

They should be there.

I got an error message after the upgrade something along: "failed to build custom assembly".

All the indicators had strange bugs so what i did was: copy the custom indicators to another folder. Backup everything in NT except for NinjaScript, and delete the MyDocuments\NinjaTrader XX folder after closing NT.
Start NT again, restore your backup, copy the indicators to the indicator folder. After opening one with edit, recompile it with F5, this should fix your problem.

If you didn't get the error message I got, it might be a lot simpler.

6.5 Update

Might be a good idea to let people know of this problem with the update. It may save them hours of frustration. I got the same problem after updating, I can't import or export any ninjascript and get the same error message.

NTWolfe, I'm not aware of a general upgrade issue - which exact error message are you referring to? Have you tried recompiling all your present scripts already?

Yes I uninstalled everything and reinstalled the older version. I saved all of my custom indicators to another folder first, then manually copied all my custom indicators back to the folder ninjatrader folder under my documents. In the control center I chose to edit ninjascript and the recompiled the first system indicator "ADL" and the errors said I was missing _______indicator that was referenced in the ADL indicator. Happened to be a custom indicator ADXMVA that didn't get copied over so I imported it the normal way from the zip file and then went back to the ADL system indicator hit the F5 key and it recompiled with no errors and all of the other indicators worked fine after that. Imam able to import files just fine now. However I am hesitant to install the new update again, how important is it?I spent several hours looking for a solution someone else on the forum had the same issue and posted how they fixed it, was a little different than what I had to do, but it worked.

Thanks for clarifying and great to hear you're install is working out - the latest 16 upgrade is only needed for customers working with our TradeStation interface.
