    Hello,

Thanks for the note. I am happy to help.

Where did you get the indicator from?

It may either be a 3rd party indicator, or one that was created using NinjaScript. If it is one created from NinjaScript then the creator of this indicator can change the name of the indicator inside the code so that NinjaTrader will see it as something different than the file name. Example: Inside a chart you add an indicator named “XYZ” when the file name for that indicator is “ABC.cs”. If it is a 3rd party indicator they may be in a compiled “.dll” file in which that case you would not be able to view it inside the “Edit NinjaScript”

You can try to find the file in the “Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> bin -> Custom ->Indicator” folder but it may be named something different. Most of the file names starting with ‘@’ are going to be the indicators that come preinstalled with NinjaTrader. Since it is a 3rd party indicator it may not have an ‘@’ before it, or when you are looking at that folder you can compare the files to the ones you see when you try to add them to a chart to see which ones are different.

Here is a little video sample to show how to change the name of an indicator inside NinjaScript.

        Hello tradr,

Thanks for the note. I am happy to help.

It should be just a standard “.zip” file that you can open up in windows (Vista or newer) by double left clicking on it. Otherwise, you can use a standard program like “WinZip” to unzip them.

hi JC, discovered I couldn't open the zip because the WinZip version I had was out of date !

downloaded and installed v 16.5 and was able to extract the files
