Plot with Variable Opacity

Hi all;
Have searched the forums but can't find an answer:

I would like to add an opacity variable to an indicator plot.

Does anybody know how to do this please?

When using 'Draw.....' there is an int used to stipulate opacity and this can be altered easily enough to a user defined variable :

DrawRegion(string tag, int startBarsAgo, int endBarsAgo, IDataSeries series, double y, Color outlineColor, Color areaColor, int areaOpacity)

How do I alter the opacity of a plot - for example if I wanted to plot the MACD histogram and then in the same panel say plot the ROC. I would like to set the MACD histograms opacity to say 4 so that I can see when the ROC crosses zero.

Hi Ben,

Unfortunately the standard plots do not offer an opacity parameter that you can adjust. You can work with standard C# graphics by overriding the Plot() method and writing the graphics directly.

This requires advanced programming and is beyond our scope of support. To get started on this there is a sample built into the platform under Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Indicator > CustomPlotSample. This is a very basic sample, and you could look at the recent Swami indicators posted in the file sharing section for what you can do at the upper-level with this.

It's quite simple, no need to override Plot:
PlotColors[0][0] = Color.FromArgb(200,Color.DeepSkyBlue) ; // for example opacity is 200.
MyPlot.Set(Close[0]);
