Turn "if (Historical)" on and off

If I use the statement:

if(Historical) return;

Does this remain in effect for the remainder of the code?

If so, is there a way to turn historical processing back on without rearranging all the code?

Yes, that would apply for the rest of the code.

I've seen users create an public bool or enum to give you the option to turn this on/off directly from the UI.
