assembly not found

I use a precompiled assembly (don't have the source) to build an indicator. I add it to references and can use the classes in the c# editor. But running the indicator I get an error ("Could not load file or assembly. file not found"). Neither copying this to the custom folder of NT works.
Note that the same assembly works in Visuakl Studio on the same system.

Rolf, is this assembly build with .NET 3.5 as taget framework selected? Did you try again after restarting NT fresh after copying in / adding the assembly?

I already restarted, but another restart resolved the issue.
