    DrawText autoscale

    Hallo

I'm trying to use DrawText and DrawDot with autoscale flag set to true.
I use each of them twice, one +50 and -50 pips from Close.

The problem is that i autoscales only one of them.

    1. I've set dataseries(ctrl-f) autoscale to false
    2. Indycator's(ctrl-i) autoscale is automatically set to true
    3. Indycator's at ninjascript Initialize() AutoScale and DrawOnPricePanel is set to true
    4. DrawText autoscale is set to true:
    DrawText("F+" , true, ...
    DrawText("F-" , true, ...

    Any ideas ?
    Thanks in advance

voyager, are then using a unique tag id for all the objects you wish to see visualized currently?

If you reuse a tag id it would just update the old object and thus if you assign it for example double accidentally it could suppress an object as well.

      Thanks for replying so fast as always ;

This is a good point. I forgot to mention that i've already checked the tags and there is no problem.
After all if i slide the chart vertically, i see the hidden text. It is there, but not in the autoscaled chart.

voyager, you're welcome - could you perhaps email me the indicator to support at ninjatrader dot com so I could give it a quick run here for you?

          1. Insert the following indicator Test on a YM chart
          2. Press on chart ctrl-f and set Auto scale to false for the dataseries.

You now should see F+ and F- in the chart but you don't

Why would you set the autoScale for the DataSeries to false here? It works normally for me if that's set to true as well.

The point is to fix the field of view to a zone i choose independently the day's volatility.
If i resize the chart to include the two texts, the concept works fine

Anyway, shouldn't it print the two texts into the chart ?
              Thanks again

I see what you're saying, thanks for clarifying - I will check with development, this looks unexpected to me here. If I add for example a regular SMA to your setup then it would include it, same for you?

                Thanks,

Again if i put SMA's autoscale to false it does'nt include the two texts.
Maybe its a bug in the drawing process

                      I found a way.
I inserted 2 drawlines after drawtexts and it works

I'd like to propose to connect the SuperDom with Global Crosshair
I believe that this would be very usefull and maby easy to be implemented

                      Thanks

Great to hear, I still have asked development to check into your original issue and findings.

How would you 'link' the SuperDOM and crosshairs then? Would you like to see indicator / line values visualized on the DOM?

What i mean for SuperDom is when i have my cursor on it, ninja would place the chart's cursor on the same value and vice versa
e.g. when i point on an eurusd chart on 1.3961 the SuperDom would highlight the same price.

I propose this because i feel that superdom works like a magnifying lense for the chart.
So why not connect them (like the charts are already connected via the global crosshair)

Finally i see from all the answers i have got whenever i had a problem, i believe that you Bertrand
are the MVP of the best support team i know.
Very good work, and very quick.
                          Thanks

You're welcome voyager - thanks much for those kind words and clarifying your suggestions - I've forwarded them to product management for consideration, I'll post a tracking # for you here shortly.

voyager, I wanted to get back to you on your find here, this was investigated and it unfortunately a limitation for now, so you would continue to use your workaround - we do have noted it down though for future consideration to further enhance NinjaTrader.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
