Any suggestion on how to develop a indicator that tracks the open price of every 30 minute bar? I tried something but it does not work. Could something like this be a good start inside the inside the OnBarUpdate()?

If you are running an indicator on a 30 minute bar just plot a SMA with a period of 1 set to Open price on chart directly.

If you want to just plot the open value of a 30 minute time slot you have to do some math and store a value based on doing some time comparisons every 30 min block. You would have to become familiar with the methods/properties on the .NET DataTime structure. Google C# DateTime structure and it should find Help DOC references on the MSDN site.

Be careful of your C# syntax. Use "==" for comparisons, since "=" is for assignment.
