    Overlay Chart Logic

I have 2 Indicators overlayed in one panel. I have written a Indicator that transforms the right Y value to the Left Y value so I can compare directly the overlayed values.

The math is verified but I have had to make some assumptions about the logic Ninja uses to overlay.

Can you fill me in some of the logic.? Are the current values for the panel range calculate from the inception of the data on the chart?

I have a look back period and can verify that my transformed indicator equals the original indicator but it seems that the Ninja chart logic is doing something that I assumed incorrectly.

Is there a way to get the overlay values via code?

    Thanks.

    Hi Stuart,

Thanks for the post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums. We unfortunately do not have the overlay calculations publicly available. Overlay is a visual setting only - there's no way to access programatically the values seen when an indicator is overlayed.

There is an indicator available in our support forums that you may want to look at, to see an example of providing overlay functionality using NinjaScript. It's called StochasticsOverlay, available in the NinjaTrader 6.5 section.
