Memory consumption

Hi all,

I am developing an indicator and need to load Last Bid Ask and minute data.
It seems to be taken a lot of memory.

For example Ninja without the indicator is taking 75,000k. When I load the indicator
without the Bid Ask and Last data ( only minute data ) it goes to 105,000k.
Now when loading the bid ask and last it goes up to 455,000k....

First is it something normal ?

Secondly when the market gets very active Ninja freezes for a few seconds sometimes more.. Is it related to the memory consumption or Zen Fire ?

I am applying all performance tips that you suggest..

Hi blar,

Are you using the latest NT 7.0.1000.5? - improvements in memory for this one.

If all your indicator does is add the series, then the memory footprint should be similar to if you charted these series. If your indicator does more though, then your coding could be responsible for increased memory.

It's hard to say what is happening without looking at your trace files. If you have the date and time of a recent freezing occurrence, we can look and see if there is anything noted during this time. Please send to support 'at' ninjatrader 'dot' com. Attn: RyanM and indicate the date and time.

You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.

* The trace file will be named ‘trace.YYYYMMDD.txt’
