Big problem

Hi all

I am installing a new indicator for a customer but I had the following message in the log tab.

Unable to create instance of NinjaTrader.Indicator.......Most likely there is no default constructor method or the default constructor does not work correctly. Exception has been thrown by the target of invocation.


This message appears for all indicators NinjaTrader and custom indicators.
This is not the first time I am installing this software and never seen that before..

Could you please guide me so I can solve this ...

If it comes up for all indicators then there may be issues with the assembly. You can delete this and NinjaTrader will create a new one on startup.
Shutdown NinjaTrader
Browse to My Documents\NinjaTrader\bin custom
Right click on file NinjaTrader.Custom.dll and select delete.

Restart NinjaTrader. You'll want to then attempt to compile to check for programming errors.

Thanks I will try that.

Would it be possible that the customer is not using NinjaTrader 7.10 or higher
which would have caused this error.


These errors were not there before I installed my custom indicator though...

Also when I imported my custom indicator it did not show in the indicator window...

There can be issues caused when installing assemblies meant for specific versions of NinjaTrader. We recently changed protection software from RemoteSoft to CliSecure.

The divide is 7.0.1000.3 and higher. If you export your assemblies with a current version of NinjaTrader 7, should verify that client installing is using 7.0.1000.3+
