ADL indicator and Max bars back setting?

For the ADL indicator is there a way to change the Max Bars Look Back setting to something other than Infinite, or 256? I would like to have it reference a smaller sample of bars and adjust depending on the time frame of the chart I am using it on.

Hello a-10tankkill,

Unfortunately those are the only two choices for maximum bars lookback. Smaller than 256 works for most purposes and is efficient. If you require more can set this to infinite.

Actually I was hoping to work with a smaller number for the setting. Would it be possible for me to try and use the code for the indicator to try and build a newer version with the Look Back number able to be changed by the user?

Hi Bob,

The actual lookback is based on the value you specified in indicator expressions.EX:
SMA(Close, 15);

That's a 15 bar lookback. You can code that as an input if you like.

The MaximumBarsLookback property is only those two settings, and can't be changed.
