    Memory usage

Hey guys. I know how useful the PlotColors[] series is in NT7 and why it was needed for line plots. Here is the question. Consider these two options:

    1) Three plots of different colors for a multiple color hash line - NT6.5 and NT7

    2) One plot and three PlotColors for the same scenario - NT7 only

Number 1 uses three series and number 2 uses 4 series. What are the memory ramifications when using multiple colors as in number 2? If not needing to join line segments would it be better to still use multiple plots to reduce memory requirements?

I have been curious for some time and finally thought I'd ask.

Hi Dan, that's good question - thanks for posting it - correct the general series requirement for option 1 would be less, but you also need to figure in the general NT7 optimized handling of dataseries objects as the lookback is not 'infinite' unless explicitly set / coded. For your special need I'd believe option 1 is slightly ahead still.

Thanks Bert. I guess it is something to weigh when an indicator could use 30 different colored plots (NT6.5/7) versus 38 plots/color series (NT7 only) combinations.
