Adaptive timeframe

Is it possible to have an indicator or strategy adjust the timeframe of the chart in use?

Or can an indicator create a copy of the chart in use but with a different timeframe and then pass variables to an indicator in that chart?


The indicator I am developing requires that the price (between two pivots) is drawn within a frame of 100-150 bars and each bar could be n ticks or n minutes etc depending on market speed.

Hello BillyRayValentine,

A strategy is applied to one series and you can add multiple series in the Strategies Initilize() method. Unfortunately changing intervals is not supported, but you may be able to work within this framework to achieve your goals. You can check conditions on multiple time frames as well as submit orders to specific time frames.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you know if changing the timeframe is something that could be supported in the future?

What I would be interested in is the ability to change the number of ticks, minutes or days represented by each bar. For example; if my strategy is started on a 5 tick chart then I can adjust this up (to 10 ticks) or down (to 2 ticks) to fit price patterns as required.
