Setting an indicators's scale to logarithmic

How can an indicator default the scale in it's margin to being logarithmic? It seems to me this makes a lot of sense if the indicator knows that the values it reports will span quite a range.

What I mean is to have the indicator initially set the margin scale as if one had set the "Type" property to "Logarithmic". The user could, of course, override that setting if desired.

EV, unfortunately this is not supported - thanks for the suggestion though.

are the properties that hold those values. When read, they return values of "Linear" or "Logarithmic". The problem is that they do not appear to be writeable. The values are held in the xml file for the workspace.

If you figure out how to make them writeable, I would like to know too.
