Tick Charting

When creating a Data Series Chart type (ie, Tick, Volume, Minute, etc) there is not a choice to chart the up/downtick. Do you have any code snippets that might help me in charting this?

You can set color for up / down bars through the right click > data series window. This is available with tick charts as well. Are you looking for something different?

Yes, what you are referring to it the tick chart, which displays bars after the completion of a designated number of transactions, which NT refers to as a tick chart.

I'm talking only about the number of times the price ticks up / down with or without a transaction, which I believe is each time the instrument is offered at a particular price.

I'm not aware of a code snippet that tell you exactly this. For working with market depth, we have this sample available:

If you are only interested in tracking changes in the best bid /ask prices, you can work in OnMarketData() for this.

. I haven't delved into that code myself, but as I understand it, they are doing much of what you are looking for.
