Updating Indicators [newbie question]

Hello, I am working on my first custom indicators, but I can't figure out what is the correct procedure I should do when updating an indicator in order to see the results.

I notice than whenever I update an indicator an hit the save button, NT keeps using the old indicator version code (I also tried refreshing the market analyser as well as the charts), the only way I figured out to make NT use the newest version is to close it and re launch it.

I am sure there must be another way, any idea what I am doing wrong?

PS: Also, I am getting my emails via Tools->options->misc but not when using SendMail(), are there any logs I can check in order to see if there is something wrong?

yakito, for the indicators please compile the changes in by pressing F5 in the editor (or right click > compile).

You can always check the log tab for errors, this is the rightmost tab of the Control Center.

For SendMail() please try also entering your ISP's SMTP servers if the default setup would not work for you.

I have one more question regarding the mail settings. If I set alerts conditions on the market analyzer, I should receive an email if I have set it up on tools->options->misc->"mail alert messages to" ?

It seems everything is working now, the test mail and the SendMail() but not that.

Hello Yakito,

That feature is for error logging, not alerts in market analyzer.

There is no automatic mailing in the market analyzer. Messages are written to the File > New > Alerts window.

If you wanted to email based on conditions in the market analyzer, this would have to be setup in the logic for the custom indicator - with SendMail()
