    Dragging Detection

Is there functionliaty within the indicator programming environment that would let me present a text display, rectangle, or horizontal bar within the price panel and allow it to be dragged by the user and for me to detect where it was dropped?

    Hi dkrumholz,

This is possible in NinjaTrader 7, however it is borderline outside of the scope of support we can provide, depending on what you want to do with the box.

You can access drawing objects in NinjaTrader 7 with IDrawObjects:

      Detecting Where Moved

Tim - thanks for your quick and excellent response. Forgive me for so quickly trying to probe the support limits of this feature - but - how would I determine that the object was dropped and where would I learn its new position?

        dkrumholz,

There is no event you can use to know when the object was dropped. The only way you would know an object has moved is if you check the object's various anchor points again.

What is possible is moving the object. For example if you were using a line object you would use the ILine object and get the start/end values. You compare it to what it was before and what it is now and you know an object moved.
