How to find current background color?

Is there an easy (programmatic) way to find out what the current background color of the chart is?

I'm needing to turn some lines on/off by changing there colors to the background color to hide them ....

I didn't see anything in the docs, but was sure that there was a method to do this...

Any help appreciated.
