Looking for a correct Three Line Break indicator

Hi, I saw the TLB indicator in the indicators area but it doesn't seem to be correct or at least doesn't match the eSignal charts.

I was wondering if anyone has written a version that works ok.

Betrand: just in case you read this, I'm still waiting for the next beta but I'm also looking for the TLB version that plots OHLC or Candles behind...

    Thanks everyone.

Hi tradinghumble, unfortunately I'm not aware of another one...I ask for your patience until beta 5 is ready for your testing. Thanks

          TLB in NT7?

Hi NinjaTrader, I was looking for the three line break indicator (TLB or 3LB, also see http://www.surinotes.com/Tradestation/articles/3lpb.pdf) in the latest beta version of NinjaTrader 7, beta 18, but couldn't find it.

According to this thread there were plans to have an improved version up and running already in beta 5. Will TLB be included in NT 7? That would be awesome! Many chart packages are including it now. Thanks!

StarEagle, the three line break charting style has been present in NT7 for quite some time now. Please download it and try it out.

              Download TLB Indicator / NT7

              Hi Austin,

thanks for your quick reply. Sorry if this question is very basic, I am new to NinjaTrader.

I have NT7 beta 18 installed. When opening a chart, I right-click on the chart and select "Indicators...". The Indicators window opens. All the indicators are listed in the left column (starting with ADL, ADX, ADXR, etc.). I went through every one of them and read the label information. The three line break (TLB) indicator was not among them.

Do I have to download the indicator separately, and if so, where?

If this is all explained in a tutorial or similar I would also be grateful if you could point me towards that as well.

Thanks so much for any tips!

StarEagle, the Three Line Break is a charting style and not an indicator for NT7. Please see the attached screenshot for how to get a TLB chart.

                  3LB wrong calculated?

I think the 3LB is calculated wrong.
In Sierrachart it looks different and is more updated with a bar than NT7.(sometimes nothing is plotted in an hour on ES)

bapovs, please let me know which exact chart settings you were using so I can take a look.

                    Thanks,

please check this thread second from above.
both 1 min charts on the ES decmeber contract.
It looks like the Sierrachart 3LB are more bars plotted than the one from Ninjatrader.
I don't know what the exact code is from SC but trying to find it out.

Are you comparing with the same underlying data / data provider?

With the 1 min as base interval, how many breaks are you using in your chart?

                          Different data provider.
With the 1 min as base interval, how many breaks are you using in your chart? Don't know exactly what you mean by that. But everything is standard. So that would be 3?

3 would be standard, but best is checking the exact settings used in both NT and SC.

Next, please check which session settings your charts would use so those are also identical when comparing charts.

Ideally the same dataprovider should be used to, but the 2 points above would be stronger.

The settings in SC are as follow:
-number of lines to break: 3
                              Group consecutive boxes: NO
                              Input data: LAST
                              Timeframe: 1 min

                              Settings NT are as follow:
                              Type chart: Linebreak
                              period type: 1min
                              base period value: 1
                              line breaks: 3

                              Both charts are 24/7
