Market Analyzer-aware Indicators

How does one make certain variables or DataSeries values available to the Market Analyzer so that you can display values in columns and set alerts based on them?

Only plots are available for access in the Market Analyzer. Make the DataSeries a plot if you want it available.

Thanks for the reply, Josh. So just to brainstorm a little more:

The thing I'd like to make the alert is not exactly a "plot-worthy" piece of data. I'm coding ******'s sequential indicator and would like to be able to alert myself at the same time that a "13" count is reached (Sequential is essentially a price pattern counting indicator that labels bars with numbers above them, 1-9 and 1-13).

So I wouldn't want a plot on my chart to do this... but is there a way I could create a plot... place it on the price panel... turn auto-scale off so it doesn't effect y-height... and make the plot transparent? That way I'd get access to it without visually seeing it.

Or (and forgive my ignorance), if I don't have to have an indicator applied to my chart in order to set up alerts in the market analyzer, I could convert my code to a plot-based indicator and use it for alerts. Then I'd have my non-plot version on my charts to look at but my plot-converted indicator being monitored in Market Analyzer. Does that sound doable or am I misunderstanding the capabilities of the Market Analyzer? Maybe you can only alert based on indicators applied to charts you have open...

I would go with your second route. You do not need a chart open to run an indicator in the Market Analyzer.
