How to add additional/optional parameters to an indicator?

I created a custom indicator, compiled and used it in a strategy. Now I want to go back and add more parameters to the indicator and it gives me error "No overload mothod CS1501" I believe that since the indicator dll is referenced in the strategy it is not allowing me to change it. How can i fix this?

isitpossible, either change the call in the strategy accordingly at the same time and recompile and comment out the indicator call in the strategy and then work out the new overload in the indicator, when it compiles well you can then update the strategy to the new call.
