    Defining an MA as a Variable

    Hello

    I've almost finished my custom indicator, all I need is to add an SMA.
    My question is, how do I define an SMA as a variable at the beginning of the code?

    I tried: int SMA(50) but it generated an error message.

    Could somebody help me out here?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi laocoon,

    Please try: int variableName = SMA(50)[0];

      Hi Josh

      Thanks a lot for your quick reply. I'm getting another error message now:
      "Cannot implicitly convert type "double" to "int". An explicit conversion exists.

      What does that mean?

      Thanks

        My mistake. Please try: double variableName = SMA(50)[0];

          Sorry to bother you again with this, but now it says:
          "An object reference is required for the nonstatic field, method, or Property Ninjatrader.Indicator.Indicator.SMA(int)"

          Thanks
