Ralph, the definition is in the Variables region where NT puts wizard created variables (except that this one doesn't have any wizard variables). I always put variable definitions there if they need to be referenced by all the methods in the indicator. Other indicators are coded the same way.

HOWEVER, I decided to test putting the stmts in the OnBarUpdate() method just in case. All variable type assignments compile: DataSeries, int, and my <List> of custom class objects.

I have no custom namespace in either of these two indicators, but I may make one to hold the custom classes that I use over and over.

Thank you, Ralph, for your persistence and willingness to help !!!!

    Happy Easter!

I guess we found it: You can't apply a method in a variable's declaration. Only data types, including class instantiations. If you would like to declare a variable with the return value of a method, the class's constructor is the right place.

      Regards
      Ralph
