ETH and RTH on same instrument on the same chart?

Is there a way to show both an ETH and RTH version of an indicator on the same chart. Programmatically I can use the ETH and just omit the non RTH hours if I want but was looking for something bit more elegant.

I tried adding both an ETH and RTH time frame to the chart but it would not let me add the same exact time frame twice (like 2 1minute time frames) for the same instrument not even if I use a different session template. I know they made some changes in V8 to accommodate this but is there anything on V7 I can do??

Thank you for your question ct. While NinjaTrader 7 does limit you to one bar type per chart, there are work-arounds to this limitation. The attached workspace contains a chart with a 1 minute RTH and transparent 60 second ETH series for ES 12-18, and an SMA on each series. To install the workspace, rename it to the .xml extension and copy it to your Documents\NinjaTrader 7\workspaces folder.



In situations where you do not have as neat an equivalency as 60 second vs 1 minute bars, I would recommend extending the bars type you would like to have more than one of with a custom bars type. Although custom bars types in NinjaTrader 7 are not directly supported, there are examples on the forums,

For example, you may create a bars type AlsoTick that is equivalent to the Tick bar type.
