Buy Sell Volume TOP question

on the indicator "Buy Sell Volume Top"

why is there the availability to plot 2 buys and 2 sells ?? (see attach)

It looks as though the bar volume is made up of 4 different plots.

If you could provide a link to the indicator I may be able to provide more information, as this does not seem to come standard on NT7.

The way the indicator is presented, it looks like there should be only 2 colors, and why there are 4 has to do with the way the bar is painted. For example if there are more buys than sells on a given bar.

Both the picture as well as the code defaults use only 2 colors to produce a bar with 4 plots. I'm not sure changing the colors is how the indicator is supposed to be used however you could consider leaving a comment for the author and seeing if he responds.

Looks like he is using plot hierarchy to set which color is behind and partially covered by the lower plot. Visually, that might be the way to do it in NT6.5 but not necessarily the best in NT7-8. If you needed to get actual buy and sell info from plots, his way could work. Even then it could be done with three plots instead of four.

thanks for the reply .... no... i was just more curious than anything .... 2 plots... buy & sell ... seems more than adequate ... especially since i rarely pay attention to volume anyway

There needs to be a way to always show the shorter plot in front of the taller one so both are always visible. That code was the way it was handled. The better way, at least for visualization, would be to use two plots and assign the larger volume to the back plot. Then color the plots according the to type of volume.
