bar number of viewable bars?

Is it possible to get the bar number of the first viewable bar on the chart?

Sure. Use CurrentBar. If you wanted to get the close of the very first bar on the chart you would do Close[CurrentBar].

What I'm asking is... let's say 500 bars have been generated in the chart... And at the current zoom level bars 412 up to CurrentBar are shown.
I want to DrawText on the left edge of the screen (where bar 412 is) at a specific price (Y) value.

You cannot specify you want the oldest bar (most left bar) on the visible screen to draw for DrawText(). Instead you can try using DrawTextFixed() though.
