    Change chart symbol programatically

    Hi,

I have an indicator that does not support Market Analyzer. I'd like to cycle through a large number of charts manually. Typing in symbols makes it a very laborious process. I'm familiar with how to add, say, buttons to the toolbar that would allow me to click "Next" and take some action in response. The action I'd like to take is to change the symbol of the chart. Is that doable that anyone is aware of? I'f prefer to do it in NT7, but would leverage NT8 if that is the only option. Thanks.

    Hello grose,

In both platforms, there are no documented/supported ways to programmatically change the DataSeries like you are asking. This may be able to be accomplished using general C# to invoke key commands however I believe an easier solution would be to use the built-in window link feature.

If you already have a market analyzer open, you could use the link button in the top of the window and define a specific color, then in the chart do the same process and define the same color. Now when clicking rows in the market analyzer the chart will change to that instrument.

I look forward to being of further assistance.

      That's a brilliant suggestion. Thanks.
