Custom Assemblies

Do custom assemblies continue running even though a chart is not displayed that is using the assemblies. I'm wondering because I have a situation where computer perfermance was seriously degraded after installation of a custom assembly. I'm wondering because the problem only started after installation of the custom assemblies and we have not been able to resolve the problem. We removed the custom assemlies this morning and are running without them at the moment to see what effect that has but wanted to check you guys as well.

Potentially could be a problem. Especially if resources are not released.

I understand your answer but you really didn't answer my question. I'll attempt to rephrase...

Let's assume that the assembly is programmed properly so it releases resources as it should.

1. Do assemblies stay active in some way even though there is no active chart with those assemblies loaded?
2. Do assemblies get loaded when NT starts even though you don't load a chart that uses them?

I think the answer to those 2 questions will do the trick. I hope so.

Assemblies are loaded as NT starts. If an assembly holds one indicator and this indicator is never used during an NT session, then its dormant. If it is used and then the indicator removed (no longer in use) then you are at the mercy of the developer of this indicator. Meaning, Josh's repsonse applies.
