Amount of time spent by a stock on a particular price

Just wondering if there is already an indicator available that calculates and provides the amount of time the stock spent on a particular price? It may be for a particular time frame (1hr, 4hr, etc.), for the day, for the week, for the month or for the year.

    Hello ebutu555,

    Thank you for the post.

This is what time-based charts do. Any time frame you select for the chart will display the price the instrument was at for that period.

One histogram indicator we have is the Volume Profile, it will display a volume histogram based on price.

Please let us know if we may be of any further assistance.

Thanks for the response. But, I think I didn't phrase my question properly. I'm aware of normal chart with price in X-axis and time in Y-axis. I've no question in that. What I'm trying to find out is, is it possible to find out how longer the price stayed at a particular price? For instance, in a 1 minute bar, price could have stayed at a specific price for a longer duration, probably 20 sec. or 30 sec. Similarly, for a 5/10/15/30/60/180 bar etc. I guess, it's similar to PoC, but taking time into account rather than volume. Please correct if my logic is incorrect or implausible. Thanks.

        Hello ebutu555,

I do understand what you are asking for now. Please allow me to write up a quick example indicator over the weekend and I will follow up on Monday.

I look forward to assisting further.

          Hello,

          Thanks for your patience,

I have made a simple script that prints out a type of stopwatch at the top right corner. It resets the timer solely based on price change, and it is only updated on each tick, so the printout is a little choppy. You may add it to your NinjaTrader installation by going to file>utilities>import NinjaScript>Select the downloaded file.

This script is for educational purposes only.

Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.
